Mallorca is a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea approximately 170 kilometers off the coast of mainland Spain. It belongs to a group of islands called the Balearic Islands, which also includes the islands of Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. Mallorca is the largest Spanish island at a size of approximately 3640 square kilometers and with 550 kilometers of coastline dotted with numerous beaches to suit different tastes. Palma de Mallorca is the largest city on the island with a population of over 300,000 people. Palma is the main point of entry to the island with the Port of Palma receiving large cruiseships and the Son Sant Joan airport on the outskirts of Palma receiving all international flights to Mallorca.
