Sa Caleta de Portals Vells Beach
Sa Caleta de Portals Vells is a small and beautiful beach surrounded by the nature. The beach is a part of the Portals Vells area which is located in the southeastern corner of Mallorca about 3 km south from the resort of Magaluf. The area of the beach cove is surrounded by amazing high cliffs with big caves. You can access these caves and cliffs along the hiking paths that go around the coastline of the area. There is a thick layer of pine trees around the hills surrounding this beach and partly covering the beach as well creating a nice shelter for the beach. Sa Caleta de Portals Vells is the southernmost beach of the four beaches in the Portals Vells.
You can access the larger beach called Sa Platgeta de Portals Vells along the path that goes by the coastline. There you can find the closest parking area. The route to the beach goes pass the Poniente Golf course and continues along a gravel road in to the pine woods. Take a right turn when the road splits in two seperate directions. The left turn goes to two other beaches of Portals Vells, Playa El Mago and Playa del Rei. Another way to access the beach is on board cruise ships that visit Portals Vells from nearby resorts like Magaluf and Palma Nova. There aren't any services available on the beach but there is a small restaurant on the larger beach which is open during the summer season.
