Valldemossa
Valldemossa is a beautiful town that is located in the Northwest part of Mallorca about 15 kilometers north from Palma de Mallorca. The town is surrounded by the Tramuntana mountain range, therefore the easiest access to Valdemossa is from the south. Other directions are a bit more challenging mountain roads. There are also a lot of bus excursions to Valldemossa available from the surrounding resorts.
The town by itself with its old streets and buildings offer a lot to see for the tourists. The flower decorations, well kept gardens and small street cafeterias create a charming atmosphere. The most famous attraction is Cartuja de Valldemossa. This monastery was the home of Frederic Chopin and his lover George Sand during the winter of 1838-39. Tourists can visit the monastery for a small entrance fee.
