Pollença
The town of Pollença is located in the Northern part of the island near Alcudia at the base of the Tramuntana mountains. It was founded in the 13th century as a part of islands defense against the pirates. The town offers plenty of medieval culture, galleries, churches and Gothic chapels along the narrow medieval streets. Plaça Major is the central point of town with cafés, restaurants and a weekly market on Sunday mornings. One of the most popular attractions is El Calvari chapel, situated at a scenic location on a hill top at the end of 365 stone steps that represent each day of the year.
