Deià

Deià is a beautiful village built on a hillside in a valley that is surrounded by the Tramuntana mountain range. The village includes many old buildings that fit perfectly into the landscape and an ancient church that sits on a hill. The valley below has a system of open irrigation channels that date back to Moorish times. At the bottom of the valley there is the beautiful Cala Deià which can be reached on foot by using a path through the olive groves. There is a network of paths surrounding the village making Deià a perfect place for walking outdoors in beautiful surroundings.

Deià is situated on the Northwest coast of Mallorca and the population of the village is around 650 people. The village celebrates the fiesta of its patron, St. John the Baptist on June 24th. During June and July there is a music festival Festival Internacional de Deià for the friends of classical music.

If you are visiting the town with your own car it is good to know that there are only a few parking spaces available in Deià. It might be very difficult to find parking space during the high tourist season.
